Class A Felonies

Class A Felonies are considered some of the more egregious of crimes. A criminal partaking in more than several of these crimes in a short space of time should be aware that a capture may result in meeting the hangman's noose quicker than they might expect.

Evasion of such crimes would lead to a bounty being in place. The reward is for the Sheriffs to decide.

Class B Felonies are considered serious acts of crime. They carry a fine, and jail time to match, and those evading law will find a bounty set on them for capture.

Class C  Felonies

Class C Felonies are for more minor crimes. Many of these reside around a more immediate capture, with no attempt to evade arrest. The crimes are still of a serious nature to warrant a fine and jail time, but not a bounty.

Misdemeanor Offences

Misdemeanor Offences are minor crimes. Fines are incorporated and community service would be encouraged over time in a cell. Public shaming is also an alternative option to the law to help as a deterrent.

Bill of Rights

Charter of Liberties of the State of Coyote Creek

We, the people of Coyote Creek, do hereby incorporate this Charter of Liberties to secure the rights and freedoms of all individuals within the boundaries of our state, ensuring justice, equality, and the protection of fundamental rights.

 

Article I - Freedom of Speech and Religion: The right of individuals to express their opinions freely and practice their chosen religion, shall not be infringed.

 

Article II - Right to Bear Arms: The right of the people to keep and bear arms for self-defense and the defense of the state shall not be infringed.

 

Article III - Prohibition of Quartering of Soldiers: No soldier shall, in times of peace, be quartered in any house without the consent of the owner, nor in times of war, but in a manner prescribed by law.

Article IV - Prohibition of Unreasonable Searches and Seizures: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated.

 

Article V - Protection from Excessive Bail and Cruel Punishment: No person shall be compelled to answer for a serious crime without evidence, nor shall excessive bail be demanded, nor cruel and unusual punishments be inflicted.

 

Article VI - Right to Vote for All Citizens: The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the state on account of race, color, sex, or previous condition of servitude.

 

Article VII - Reserved Powers of the States: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

 

Article VIII - Prohibition of Slavery: Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime, shall exist within this state.

 

Article IX - Right to Equal Protection of the Laws: No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States, nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.

 

Article X - Prohibition of Intoxicating Liquors: The manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors within, the importation thereof into, or the exportation thereof from the United States and all territory subject to the jurisdiction thereof for beverage purposes is hereby prohibited.
